Here is some of my pet load that worked for me. These were developed of my rifles and should only be used for reference, as always when developing a load always start with the minimum charge and work up. I do not list OAL because that is different in every gun.

30-06

Grain bullet: 150

Bullet: Nosler Ballistic tip

Powder: IMR4350

Charge: 59gr

Primer: Federal 210

Case: Winchester

Notes: I get 1-1 ¼ three shot groups out to 100yrds consistent with this load with my Savage 110. Shot average sized doe at 40yrds, I think the bullet retained most of its weight but fragmented a little. Deer went 15yrds after hit.

30-06

Grain bullet: 165

Bullet: Sierra boat tail spitzer

Powder: IMR 4350

Charge: 56gr

Primer: Federal 210

Case: Winchester

Notes: Shot two deer with this load, one buck and one doe, both at about 100yrds. Bullet expanded perfect leaving a ¾-1” exit hole.

30-06

Grain: 180

Bullet: Sierra boat tail spitzer

Powder: IMR 4350

Charge: 55gr

Primer: Winchester LR

Case: Remington Nickel

Notes: The best I could average was 1 1/2” groups at 100yrds, which is adequate for a hunting round.

------------------------------------------------------------------

8 x 57

Grain: 150

Bullet: Hornady spitzer

Powder: IMR 4064

Charge: 50gr

Primer: Federal 210

Case: Winchester

Notes: This load worked good in my Turkish M38 Mauser. Provided enough pressure to seal off the case to the chamber, with out showing any excess pressure signs

-------------------------------------------------------------------

8 x 57

Grain: 170

Bullet: Hornady Round Nose

Powder: IMR 4350

Charge: 46gr

Primer: Federal 210

Notes: A mild target load, accurate with my Yugo M48.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

250 Savage

Grain: 100

Bullet: Hornady boat tail spitzer,

Powder: W760

Charge: 37gr

Primer: Winchester LR

Case: Winchester

Notes: Shot average sized doe this year, made a pin sized hole going in, hit a rib dead in busting it cleanly, quarter sized exit hole. Deer went 25yrds double lunged.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
