M95 Range Report

I received this gun as a birthday gift, I was eying it for some time in a local gun shop. Not only was it a good price, but it came with 90 rounds of nazi ammunition on clips. I was a little suprised when it was handed to me, it was a good birthday present.

1st shooting

Everything that is said about the M95’s kick is true. I am able to withstand a stout kick, but it is not shameful to say it lets you know its there. Point of aim was about a foot high at 50yrds. With the sight flipped up it raised it about 6-8 more inches. The first group was a 4 shot group about the width of a dollar bill (2 1/2”). I flipped the sight up and shot 8 more shots all of these went in a 2 ¼” circle. While I was more accurate with the sight up the point of impact was way high. Another group resulted about the same

2nd shooting

I did some adjustments to the front sight to try to bring the point of impact down. While it worked I was over zealous when doing it and made it to wide. Still the results were the same groups wise. Everything would go into a 2-21/2" circle.

Conclusion:

With better sights and reload I think the groups could come down, but I do not think that I have a tack driver on my hands. I find I shoot better with the rear sight flipped up. Other reports on these types of rifles sound to be about the same. Nonetheless I could see this being a great short range deer rifle, light enough to be comfortable up in a tree stand and packing some wallop. For being cut down, poor sights and punishing recoil this rifle does shoot well.
